Yumprint
I just discovered it and I love it. You can make a cookbook from recipes and it lets you add them to whatever category you want and it also has recipes on hand if you want to add then instead of all of your own. I have used Taste Book in the past and have ordered the cookbooks and I loved it so much.

Memorial Day Weekend

Hope you had a fun and relaxing weekend. We were going to go to the lake and take my parents houseboat out but the lake water is still freezing so we spent the weekend at my MIL & FILs pool. We ate, swam, ate, applied sunscreen, ate, laid out, ate, swam, and ate way to much. Its all about making memories and that's all that matters not my bulging body popping out my bikini.
I however did make a fruit pizza using a cookie, fruit dip, strawberries, and green grapes.
I think that counts as healthy eating.

Sweets for my Sweetie
don't you just love his swim trunks... I die

Getting out tan on
I have a UV ray app and it was a 9 ...10 is the highest
We made sure the sunscreen was applied and we applied it lots

I also got my read on
I have a lot of good summer read books but right now I am reading
It is so good and I cant seem to put it down but then again I'm trying to take my time because I don't want it to be over. Its just that good

Mauri Laken will dive in and collect all the rings and she doesn't stop
She will also swim like a dolphin and a mermaid.

Cannonball...............

Rhett also knew it was hot and the flowers needed watering

These kids will swim and swim they never get tired and we had to drag them out at dark.
Their favorite thing is to night swim.

Rhett's Kindergarten Graduation

Its hard to believe that my caboose has graduated Kindergarten. I think I now need another one. The Farmer doesn't think so but I'm a working on him. Rhett has had a great year in Kindergarten and believe it or not it seems like it has went by so fast. He has made all 100s and his teacher has always commented how talkative he is. He finishes his work so fast and gets bored and doesn't know that some of the others still need time and doesn't catch on as easily. I think that with sibling he gets is a little faster because he has been around it. I also think he is so smart and will do good all through school. My baby went from baby, toddler, now to a lil boy.
Gosh I cant believe he will be a first grader. I think I'm going to cry

Its Graduation Day
He looks so handsome in his shirt and tie although he hates it I just love it

Class of 2026

I'm glad they didn't do those ugly graduation gowns because I'm loving the shirt and tie

Rhett posted up
He is such his Daddy's child and that is another reason I could kiss those chubby cheeks

Getting his certificate
He is now a 1st grader

Right after Rhetts graduation we had to run straight to Maci's ballgame.
She just came dressed in her ball uniform due to we didn't have time to change.
This is our last family picture with a 6th grader, 2nd grader, and a Kindergartner

What's in my Bag

With school being out and warm temps means we will be spending most of our time in the pool. My MIL and FIL lives 5 minutes from us so we will hop in the car and drive on over. I always keep my pool/summer bag stocked and ready so we can grab and go. I'm all about easy and don't want to have to round stuff up before I can get out of the door.

This is a look at what's in my bag

Fried Chicken and Biscuits

Why does growing up Southern make you privileged?
Fried Chicken and Buttermilk Biscuits
That's a meal I expect my Mom and Grandma to cook when I come over for a comfort meal. Now that I am a mom I want to carry on that tradition and all of memories that surrounds that meal. Fried chicken and buttermilk biscuits for me is a perfect Sunday meal. I don't know why but I think of Sundays as a comfort day. Lazy Sunday with good food can anything else beat this

Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Ingriedients

1 3-4 pound whole chicken cut into pieces   (I buy mine already cut)

1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
2 cups buttermilk
Self-rising flour
Vegetable oil

Preparation
Salt and pepper chicken. Place chicken in a shallow dish or zip lock and add buttermilk. Cover and seal and place in refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Pour oil into deep skillet or dutch over and heat to 360. Remove Chicken from buttermilk. Dredge chicken in flour and add chicken a few pieces at a time cook chicken for about 10-13 minutes turn over and cook for another 10-13minutes. If it get to brown turn down the heat to around 300.  Take out and drain on paper towel lined tray.

Buttermilk Biscuits

Tips for Best Biscuits
1. If you are using self-rising flour for the biscuits make sure to ONLY use all-purpose flour for dusting your work surface. Self rising flour can give the outer coating of the biscuits a bitter taste.
2. Knead gently and as little as possible.
3. VERY cold butter. When I am making any type of dough I usually stick my cubed butter in the freezer for about 5 minutes before I use it.
4. PREHEAT! Your oven should ALWAYS be preheated no matter if your making biscuits or cookies!
5. Make sure your baking soda, baking powder and flour are fresh. Don’t use the baking soda you have opened in the fridge, store your flour properly and never use them after the fresh stamp date.
6.When you cut out the biscuits from the dough, push the biscuit cutter straight down, then straight up. Do not push down and twist. This compacts the edges of the dough and causes uneven cooking and flat biscuits.

Buttermilk Biscuits
Ingredients:
2 cups self rising flour
1 stick cubed unsalted butter, COLD! ( I like to cut mine into cubes then place in the freezer for about 5 minutes before using)
3/4 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
In a bowl  add your flour, cut chilled butter until your mixtures resembles small peas. Using a fork stir in the buttermilk and mix until just combined (very important to NOT over mix). Turn out the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently fold then gather about three times until the dough comes together. Now roll the dough out using your rolling pin to approx 1/2 inch thick. Cut out the biscuits using a biscuit cutter or drinking glass and place them on a large baking sheet as close together as you can get them. Bake until slightly golden brown, about 20 minutes.
