QVC product Review

I was in desperate need of a Makeup organizer. While looking I found some that I liked but didn't like the price so I kept looking and low and behold on Pinterest I came across this Spinning makeup organizer and and the price was in my budget. I went on over to QVC and ordered it.

The shipping was very fast and packaged great. No assemble need. I have been using this Vera Bradley travel cosmetic bag so I was always digging. Now I don't have to dig to shake bag to move stuff over. Everything is in my eye sight and I can just spin it my way. Rotates smooths and I was worried if one side was heavier that the other it would tump over but to my surprise it doesn't. This is a great product I definitely recommend. I'm loving it.
ByeBye Vera will no longer need you everyday, only when travel.

Eagle has Landed

In our breake we have a pair of bald eagles that built a nest a few years ago and every year we cant wait to check out the new babies when they fly out of the nest. Her are a few fun facts about Bald Eagles.
Color - Both male and female adult bald eagles have a blackish-brown back and breast; a white head, neck, and tail; and yellow feet and beak.
Juvenile bald eagles are a mixture of brown and white; with a black beak in young birds. The adult plumage develops when they are sexually mature. It takes about five years for their head and tail feathers to gradually turn white.
The bald eagle is the only eagle confined to North America. There are no other large blackish-brown birds with a white head and tail in North American.

Size - A female bald eagle's body length varies from 35 to 37 inches; with a wingspan of 79 to 90 inches. The smaller male bald eagle has a body length of 30 to 34 inches; with a wingspan ranging from 72 to 85 inches. An eagle's average weight is ten to fourteen pounds. Northern birds are significantly larger than their southern relatives.

Bald eagles build their nests in large trees near rivers or coasts. A typical nest is around 5 feet in diameter. Eagles often use the same nest year after year. Over the years, some nests become enormous, as much as 9 feet in diameter, weighing two tons. Even when a nest tree falls or a strong wind blows a nest down, the established pair usually rebuilds at or near the site within a few weeks if it is near the breeding season. The nest may be built in a tree, on a cliff, or even on the ground if there are no other options available.
Eagles are territorial during nesting season. They will keep other eagles out of their own nesting area. Their nesting territory is usually one to two square miles.

Sexual maturity - An eagle reaches sexual maturity at around four or five years of age. At that time, the eagle's energies become concentrated on the effort of finding a mate and raising offspring. Bald eagles mate for life, but when one dies, the survivor will not hesitate to accept a new mate.
During breeding season, both birds protect the nest territory from other eagles and predators.

Can you see that there are both the female and male eagles in this tree while taking pictures with my camera I only thought I was taking pictures of one but once downloaded we were surprised that there were two in the tree instead of one.
Here is a a baby eagle, doesnt look like a baby right? I just cant get over how big the eagles are and how the change and grow into their color.

Strawberry Jam

After seeing Pioneer Woman make Strawberry jam I felt that is something that I could tackle. I don't know why I thought it was would be complicated or difficult and time consuming. I knew the kids were going to be out on Spring Break so I decided that would be the perfect time. We had so much fun and discussed trying to grow our own strawberries to make jam with the next time we make it.
I did however put my strawberries into the food processor because I don't like hunk of anything I like smooth almost like jelly. I was nervous that it might be to runny that way but luckily it turned out perfect.

This finished product fit perfectly into our own little jar we made.

H5 Blog

H5 Ranch now has a blog or actually I'm in the process of designing it and putting all our touches into it. It will be where we can spotlight the ranch as well as advertise our Black Hereford cows for sale.It all started out as a fun little hobby and our love for these cows has turned into a small business and building. who would of thought it? Certainly not myself.

I will be posting fun things and our day to day ranch living. Being that our kidos are getting older with every passing day and we don't want to miss a single thing we decided to add a Kids Korner onto H5 it will be a place and space for them you share the point of view the way they see it through their eyes. I'm not sure yet but more than likely anything H5 related I will post on the H5 blog but don't worry I will be sure and let it from my blog to the  H5 blog.
If you don't want to take a chance on missing anything you could be so kind and add
H5 Blog to your followers. That would be greatly appreciated!!!

MAC product Review

My MAC makeover went extremely well in fact so well I might need to stop being a SHAM and go back to work. Yes there was so much to choose from and Sara who helped me was so nice and patient. Couldn't ask for a better artist, she even looked like Adelle. I will break it up into a few post so it will not be so much at once...Overload
My Review:  This powder I have been loving so far and cant get over how good it feels on my face and to touch. I have noticed that it doesn't rub off against clothing on anything that you might touch with your face. It gives me the right amount of coverage. I have oily to combination skin and usually my face tends to get shiny in the afternoon but with this no shinny so no need to reapply or touch up.

My Review: I don't normally have dark circles or puffy eyes but what i love about this product is I use it under my eyes and it gives my eyes and highlighted look. I feel that it makes them pop and look wide awake and refreshed. I don't wear concealer so when she started to put this on I thought here we go a waste of her time because I'm not getting this....boy was I ever wrong. What I like most about it is that it doesn't have that oily or wet feel.

All through high school I worked at a Tanning Salon and of course I totally took advantage of that and laid 2 times a day...and heck no I didn't wear sunscreen..why wear it when I'm trying to get a tan. Sigh :{      Young and Dumb
Wished I would have listened to the smart people who were against it. Only if I knew what I know now. My skin is showing signs of sun spots so this year even though I'm having withdrawals there will be no tanning for me. Only self tanners and spray tans. This is a good step into the right direction and doesn't have that strong sunscreen smell to it.  This goes one really smooth and alot goes along way. I love that I can also use on the kids faces.

I simply get over how little you need, a slightly glide across the blush and you have enough for both cheeks. Will have this for a while so will def get moneys worth. It has a shimmer in it that will give your face that little glow but also looking natural and not overdone like you are sunburned.

Just one of those days

My day started at 8am we had to take Maci an hour away because she is going a day horse clinic from 10-5 and it takes us a good hour just to get there. Mauri had an doctor apt for her horrible sinus infection that she just cant shake at 3. We dropped Maci off came home and I was doing some unpacking, washing clothes, and cleaning when I heard Rhett with his hurt cry so I came running to find Rhett was leaning over and had blood coming everywhere on his face so I panicked calmly and wiped his face to see where the blood was coming from and how bad. As soon as I saw the gash under his chin I knew we had to get it stitched. It was wide open. He was washing his hands in the bathroom and climbing down from the sink {yes he knows better than to climb because we correct him all the time} When he feel his chin hit the marble counter tops and since it doesn't have a curve edge it busted it wide oped.
When we are home we stay in our jammies and comfy clothes so I told Mauri to get her clothes on and got mine changed threw Rhett some into my purse loaded up and we were out the door in less than 5 minutes from the accident. I made sure to call the Farmer and let him know if he comes home for lunch no one got murded it is just Rhetts chin and I would clean it up when I got back. He was in town so he met me at the ER and checked on Rhett and took Mauri back with him. Needless to say I couldn't make it in time for Mauri's appt so tomorrow we will try it again.
Funny story...I said this morning Sick kid+time change = train wreck......well being that God loves to kid me he decided to show me train wreck was not my little mess. It could get worse so don't sweat the small stuff.
Hours later after being held down by 5 nurses. Doctor knew he would just be better off sedating him because hey had no luck holding him down. My poor lil man!
Its all bruised and has a huge knot but all in all he is going to live and it hasn't slowed him down any!
So after all that I then headed to go get Maci, back home, cook dinner and get kids bathed and to bed. Thanks goodness I have a God who loves to find humer in my wild, crazy aweful days. If I didnt have him I dont know how I would make it in this scary, crazy, evil world. Things will get better he has been telling me.

Spring Break road trip

We left Friday headed to Alvarado TX for a cow sale put on by Triple L Black Herefords. Mr. Bobby and everyone else who took part in putting this sale on did an amazing job.
Friday night  we visited my cousin and his family who lives 10 minutes away from where we were staying. It was good catching up and letting the kids play. Saturday morning we got up had a huge breakfast and headed to the Diamond W Arena to check out the cows and look and see which ones we were interested in. Maci had so much fun in doing the bidding for her Daddy. We came home with 4 heifers to add to our herd.
There were so many pretty ones that I would just be doing find if I could take all. They also were selling Show Cows (cows that are halter broke and can compete in 4H) Those were my favorite but they take a lot of work and I simply can't do kids, horses, and show cows.
                                 Isn't he a beauty....he was my favorite!
After the cow sale we headed back to our hotel and got ready for the Stockyards. Our kids just love it there. While we were there I made reservations for Cattleman's Steakhouse. Highly recommend!!!
While there we went to the Rodeo at the Coliseum. There was a clown that made these precious Longhorn hats.
All in all this was an alright trip other than the fact that Mauri ended up being under the weather and so we headed back a little sooner than we wanted, we didn't get to catch up with our sweet friends like planned but I know we will be back and catch them then.
Farmer and I are worn out and this time changed didn't help one bit. Hoping this week will catch us up and Mauri gets to feeling better. Will be in doctor receiving shot because I don't see this getting any better, crazy sinuses.

Growing up

Mauri is thinking that she is to big for her room and wants to change itfrom polka dots to horses. So I am on the hunt for ideas for giving her room and update. Her favorite color is purple. So with that in mind here are a few ideas I have been browsing.
Im using these 2 colors for her room,   I know I  have to order one of these frames too.
You can check these awesome frames out @ Etsy

Of course make a few portraits with her horse Cowboy

Add some cowgirl bling

Paint colors for me has been the hardest thing to pick. I need a light pretty lilac color.

Im playing around with it and need any ideas I can get so feel free to lend me a hand in the decor tips!

Freeze Branding

We needed to Freeze Brand all the newer cows we have added to the Ranch. Since we got a downpour the day before and the Farmer couldn't work in the fields we knew to day would be the day. First things first is to round up all the cows and out them into the working pens. The Farmer set up panels and lured them in with feed while Maci and I hurried and closed the gates. Then we had to sort out the old from the new and release the old. Once sorted we loaded them into the trailer {making several trips because they wouldn't all fit} and brought them up from their pasture to the barn where the working pens and squeeze shoot were located.
While they were up here we also needed to Vaccinate and worm them. I played nurse and the Farmer was the Vet while Maci was our VetTech HaHa

Step 1. Cool irons for 20 minutes before using them on the first animal. The alcohol or liquid nitrogen should cover the head of iron by at least one inch. Bubbling or boiling of the alcohol should have stopped or be minimal prior to applying the irons. Note: the frost line on handles of the irons indicates irons are ready. Re-cool irons for 2 minutes between each use.
    image1.jpg
Step 2. Restrain the animal in a headgate and squeeze chute (preferred). Clip the hair from the area to be branded. Standard cattle clippers work well; close clipping is best. On the hip between the hook and pin bones is the preferred location for freeze brands. Brush the clipped area to remove dirt and loose hair.
    image2.jpg
Step 3. Saturate the branding area with alcohol. You may need a brush to work the alcohol all the way to the skin.
    image3.jpg
Step 4. Immediately apply the freeze-branding iron on the animal. The iron must move directly from the coolant to the animal. Apply very firm pressure to the iron. Hold the iron on the area and don't let it slip. The area will quickly become numb and the animal will experience minimal discomfort. Rocking the iron gently from top to bottom and side to side will make a better brand. Have an assistant keep track of time so the branding irons are in place for the desired length of time. The application of only one iron at a time is recommended.
    image4.jpg

Step 5. Remove the iron from the animal and immediately place the iron in the coolant for re-cooling. Remember, it takes about 2 minutes to re-cool the iron to proper temperature before applying the same iron again.
    image5.jpg
A good brand will show up as an indented number on the animal immediately after branding. Within a few minutes, the area will swell creating a raised version of the brand.
    image6.jpg
The swelling will subside in a few hours. In two to four weeks the area will begin to peel. This is normal and unpigmented hair will grow back in its place
When branding is done correctly, freeze brands will last the life of the animal. On animals with heavy winter coats, the brand may have to be clipped for easier reading. A quality branding job makes identification of animals for estrous detection or health treatment quick, easy, and accurate.

Now here we go...Maci sending them down to the shoot so we could worm and vaccinate them.

                                                            Rhett working the shoot gate
Farmer getting his Freeze Brand on.
I did work too... I took pictures, shaved the cows, and drew up shots.
Now that is all in a days work and I mean a whole entire day.
