Got a little Lost

I have let the blog go along with my life that I have always been able to controlled. We have been so crazy busy that I didn't have time to worry with the blog or anything basically. My world as I knew it was spun so far out of control and I was overwhelmed. I would always say at the new year I was going to slow down and enjoy that year little did I know it would only get busier. 3 kids who plays every single sport they can get their hands on a husband whose work requires working 9 months of the year mostly 10-15 hour days 7 days a week, the kids school which is anything but organized, and a house that needed my attention was beginning to get the best of me and I let it do just that. I was out of control and didn't even care because I was so overwhelmed it was easier to ride the crazy train instead of take back control over it but I hated every minute of it and wasn't enjoying anything instead I was miserable and I simply can't keep going like this.
I began to pray and ask God to guide me and give me wisdom and strength to take back my life. As I began praying and asking for help for putting him first I began seeing things in a different light and after talking to a friend she said something that opened my eye wide open and it went deep to my heart. She said I know you don't want to hear this but I'm going to tell you anyway (because she is that good of a friend she didn't care she knew what I needed to hear) she said the reason you are struggling with this is because you are not fully turning it over to God. As she said those words I knew right then and there her words were the truth. I was praying to God asking him to help me slow down and enjoy life and get my little world back in control but I was hoping he was going to answer my prayers instead of being fully committed and instead of hoping I had to have the Faith and put 100 percent trust in him.

As I began looking back on the blog and going through old post I loved seeing all the memories and reading the details of that moment. I am going to set goals for 2017 but not unreachable goals I would normally choose. I am currently praying for my word for 2017 as long as the goals I need to set for myself

A new series I couldn't put down

I've been slacking on the blog all because I have been reading away and enjoying every minute of it. Sometimes I don't want to tread of feel guilty like I should be using that time doing something productive but I've told myself I enjoy it and so I'm taking time out to do it.

The first series of books I want to share are Jade Series.
These book are written by Allie Everhart. There are 8 books in this series and then the author went back and wrote the other stories to some of the important characters in this book.
I would recommend these books and at first I didn't know if I wanted to tread them due to myself being older and thought I was going to be really young and totally cheesy but it wasn't at all. I would describe it as a romance and a mystery it will keep you guessing and assuming up until the end.
Choosing You (The Jade Series #1) by Allie Everhart http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FCEBAEE/ref=cm_sw_r_pi_dp_qw5ixb1J9Y7XF:
When Jade is given a scholarship to an elite private college in Connecticut, she sees it as a chance to finally escape her painful past and get a fresh start. She’s determined to succeed and that means keeping her focus on school and not guys. But that plan falls apart her first day on campus when Garret, a wealthy prep school boy with swimmer abs and a perfect smile, offers to help her move in.
Jade tries to push him away but she can’t deny her attraction to him and Garret won’t let her. Things quickly heat up between them, but then come to a sudden halt when reality hits and Jade realizes that a relationship with Garret may never be possible. He comes from a world of wealth where there are rules, including rules about who he can date. And not following those rules has consequences.
As the two of them try to overcome the obstacles working to keep them apart, Jade is confronted with another challenge. On her 19th birthday, she receives a letter that her now deceased mother wrote years ago. In it are revelations that explain her traumatic childhood but also make her question the past she’s been running from.

Book 2
Knowing You (The Jade Series #2) by Allie Everhart http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GEB7LM4/ref=cm_sw_r_pi_dp_stmhxb0NPNEAK:

Now that Garret’s decided he’s no longer following the rules of his wealthy family, he can finally develop a closer relationship with Jade. Things are going well, but Jade still worries that being with Garret is only temporary. And because of that, she’s not sure how much of herself and her past she’s willing to let him see.
Garret does all he can to assure Jade that the two of them can last, but convincing her of that is difficult when she’s never trusted anyone. So he has to show her, by being there when she needs him the most, even when she tries to keep him away.
The mysterious letter from Jade’s mom still haunts her and now she’s getting threatening phone calls. Someone from Jade’s past will stop at nothing to keep his secrets from getting out. And his number one secret is Jade.

Book 3
Loving You (The Jade Series #3) by Allie Everhart http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H9GMPYM/ref=cm_sw_r_pi_dp_Ytmhxb05PEAMY:
Since meeting Garret on her first night at college, Jade's had to overcome many obstacles to be with him, including interference from Garret's father.
Now, months later, it seems that Mr. Kensington has finally accepted Jade dating his son, but the reason for that is unclear. After what Jade witnessed at the Kensington mansion, she's not sure what his acceptance of her means. Is she tied to his family forever now that she knows some of their darkest secrets?
Spring semester begins at Moorhurst College and a new student arrives who has a little too much interest in Garret's family. And a little too much interest in Jade.
Garret continues to win Jade's heart with romantic gestures that make her love him even more. It seems like everything is starting to work out for Jade, but as her mother used to say...Good things never last. Or do they?

There are the first 3 books and a review of the book you can go review the others on amazon.

Down on the Farm

Sometimes things don't always go your way:
Trying to take the shortcut and haul hay on a regular trailer instead of hooking up to the hay trailer and one almost fell off going down the driveway had to stop and the tractor had to reposition it. Then turning into the barn this happens...

This orphan cow we brought up to the barn to start trying to halter break her for Mauri. She is very wired and excited to say the least. Most of our cows are so calm that when we get a high strung one we have some excitement. She was so scared so we just sat their and would let her come up to us. She did so good until she went up to Mauri and kicked her. Mauri was ok and it kicked her in the leg. We have tried for a few days to work on the calming effect but it doesn't look like its working.

Pinning some bulls that needs to be trimmed and cleaned up

This is what I like to call Cow Carwash or Blow & Go

Already looking a lot better, they get the royal treatment around here.
Superior Livestock came to film them for the cow sale. While the sale is going on you can view it from you computer and the video they filmed while at our place of each cow will be viewed.

Happy 75th Birthday

Nick's mamaw is turning 75 this week so we all got together and threw her a surprise party on Saturday. We all met at the Warehouse 1 and I couldn't have been any happier with the staff and waiters. All 34 of us had the best time and they were super nice and fast from our drinks, appetizers and even our food. Dennis worked with us on booking the private room to the waits staff and it was above all of our expectations with that many people. Not to mention every time we are there the food is always on point. Our kids even love it.

the middle great grandkids table

Earlier we took family pictures with the whole family and told her that the lady has not gotten to them yet. We had the picture blown up and framed and she was once again surprised even more.

We always laugh at mamaw when he asks Maci if she is taking a seffie as she calls them.
I made her take a seffie with me.

Mamaw is such a very important part in this mans life and he wouldn't be the man he is without her.
I couldn't ask for a better role model in his life. I admire her kindness and strength.

Growing up

When your child is at school and you borrow her sunglasses and send her a snap chat to show her how cool you look in her glasses. I had these glasses 4 years ago until I got my Tom Fords and this reminds me why ray bans never go out of style. Thinking of getting a different color and we can swap up. Another reason I love having a daughter = sharing accessories

Capturing these memories of us hanging out catching up on all the junior high gossip. Trying to get as much time in before I officially become uncool and the teen attitude and no time for the parents come into play. I am soaking up whatever time I can get with my mini me. Yes I am sitting on my kitchen cabinets, I don't know why but its a habit of mine. I do it all the time when Nick is cooking. I know I could easily sit in a bar stool but I prefer the counters.

Friday night Maci and her Squad as she calls them stayed the night and we had our first boy/girl Friday night bonfire. It was funny seeing how her Daddy gave her all the rules like she was on a date of had a boyfriend coming over. Nicks cousin and his wife live down the road from us and their son and Maci are 2 months apart. When they were first born we joked about this day and now that this has come it was surreal and not so funny. He had friends staying the night with him and Maci had the girls staying with her. Nick made a bonfire out of pallets he had laying around that needed to be burned anyway and he made a big pot of chili.

The kids played basketball, you cant keep these ballers away from sports.
Then they played hide in seek in the dark and just hung out and had a really good time.
It went really well and we all had a great time.

These are a really good group of kids and I am sure there will be more bonfires to come

Saturday morning a cow had a new baby so we ear tagged and weighed it.
I wish my Maci was still this little
