2am phone call.....

We got a phone call at 2am from Christi wanting to see if her water broke and going to hospital. We knew she was going to have to have a C-section because of her high cervix and he would turn so I told her to call me when she got there and heard from the doctor. She called and said it will be at 7:30 so we got up got dressed and headed down there. We are all excited and have been waiting on him for what feels like forever.

We all knew he was going to be big but couldn't wait to find out how big.

He looks like a 3/6 month old laying there



 

As you know I am a baby lover and I couldn't wait to get my hand on him and get some lovin.

But I couldn't get him for long because the kids were all telling me I was hoggin him and I was.

I just wanted to take him all in.

We all know lil momma cant be left out, right up her ally

Rhett is glad to get another boy added to his team,

he kept saying can he be my brother since I don't have one. 

and of course there is Demas telling us all how its done

He is checking him out and making sure he is farm hand ready





I have been checking on them and they made it home yesterday and are all doing great. While I have gave them some space to get home and take everything in I am fixing to go over there and snuggle him up again.

Cajun Quick Fix

I love good ole Cajun cooking but sometimes I just don't have the time for all these delicious recipes. I have finally found a perfect way to get my Cajun on in a hurry and super easy.

Normally I would use Louisiana Cajun Etouffe mix and go directly by the package directions until I had Sunday dinner at the SILS and had fixed it but I knew it didn't taste the same and it was creamier and richer and I was in love. I just had to figure out how she did it and give it a try so without further I do......

SILs Louisiana Etouffee

 

2 packages of Louisiana Etouffe mix

2 sticks of butter

 

 

 

brown on low heat in boiler until a nice rich rusty color

 

 

 

add 4 cups of water

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 package of crawfish tails about a pound

1 package of baby shrimp about 8oz

Mix together and come to a boil, stir often

 

 

After mixture comes to a boil, reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes.

add about 1/2 cup chopped green onions

Remove from heat and let stand 15 minutes

Serve Over Rice an enjoy

 

 

 

 

As far as the rice here you go simple but scrumptious

the cube will add an extra flavor to rice without tasting like chicken

 

 

and for another fast and easy secret I add these

lay foil down in your pan and then makes for easy clean up

 

 

 

 

Add a salad and you have yourself a feast

 

 

 I don't mix my rice into my Etouffee  because I like to freeze the left over Etouffee.

 When ready to eat again thaw warm on low heat and make another batch of rice.

 I can easily get 2 meals out of this

Weekend Where Abouts

I figured the best way to get caught up on my blog was not to do individual post but to cram them all into one. So here you go:

Weekend Where Abouts

The kids were out of school Friday due to Teachers Conference so that means its a perfect time for a shopping trip. The kids were needing Fall/Winter clothes and the weekends are always crazy this was perfect timing. We headed out for Mississippi early Friday morning and stopped by Starbucks to get a Pumpkin Spice Latte Venti to get us up and going. 

Dogwood Festival Market & Promenade is one of my favorite places to spend a day away from home or a weekend would be perfect. It is only 2 1/2 hours away so its not to bad. While there we can also stop by Northpark Mall and Renaissance. Its tons and tons of shopping all within minutes of each other. With that many shops we didn't get to go in half of them especially with kids it takes a little longer. Their Target is larger than ours and I could live in Target.

We has lunch at a Mexican place that was heavenly. They def didn't skimp on the food either.

Looking rough...Up at 6am and shopping with kids. Mauri was being very honoree that day.

I know I have a stain dripping down my shirt. Took a sip of my PSL and my lid wasn't on good UHH

While at a kitchen store which are my favorite stores ever I found this cute corncob whisk and was in a pack with a carrot whisk too and can we talk about a huge spatula. My first words when I saw this was OMG how awesome would that be as my new spanking paddle. So I decided to give it a try Saturday morning while making Pumpkin pancakes. 

 

The kids loved making these and were so easy and fun.

 

I got my hair done and went on a different route this time and added in some red freak streaks. I am in love with it and wondering why I didn't do it sooner. We all need freak streaks!

Saturday night we went to eat at River and Rail Cantina had a few drinks, Guacamole and Nachos.

 I know Mexican again yes we love it

Then the haunted house

As soon as we got in line we saw some of our favorite PVA high schoolers. The girls were s lil freaked out watching the craziest run around and scare the people in line while the Sister n Law and I reminisced about our high school Haunted House days. They found out the girls names and would walk up to them and yell their names. They were like they know our names YIKES



We couldn't take any pics inside Christi got her phone out to take a pic and they almost escorted us out. LoL We sent Christi in first and then myself, Maci, Gracie, and Kammie. We all screamed, laughed, and ran. It was so much fun and cant wait to go back!

 

 

Sunday we went to Sunday School and Church then came home and relaxed the rest of the day.



 

That night we got ready for the Broncos vs Colts game and ate Sunday dinner at the In Laws.

Peyton is my #1 yes even beating out Drew Breeze I loved him before anyone knew who Drew was and I love him still. I didn't like the loss but you win some and loose some but some you just want to win because of who they are playing and this was one of them.

I wanted that win more than a super bowl

 

 

MILs 50th part 2

After going to back to our hotel we found out that a Pen convention was going.

I had no idea that there was such a thing. Things people get there motors running for.

Don't you just love it....Shopping bags and drinks, that's how we roll. LoL

 

OOTNight KiKi LaRue jeggins they are the best jeggins I have ever put on these hips. I cant explain how comfy and stretchy and what a great quality they are I have a black and blue and just order more colors. I got the top from a local boutique Bayou Gypsy. The shoes I adore are from my fave designer Jessica Simpson who I call JSimps. Oh don't mind MIL she has had a few to many dranks and cant figure out which piece of luggage is hers. I kid



 

We were lucky enough to have a wonderful Riverfront Steakhouse in our hotel we didn't have to go anywhere. After we got showered and put together we headed down to the lobby bar for some cocktails. I don't know but I seem to think people in Little Rock makes drinks like nobodies business.

I got the Lobster and Steak w sweet potato fries, MIL got shrimp Alfredo with mushrooms and baked potato, SIL got surf and turf with garlic mashed potatoes.

We all loved it and the atmosphere are excellent as well. 



Now that is what I call a full day up at 5am and bedtime around midnight. Whew we were some tires chickas. The next morning we slept in and couldn't get our lazy selves up and the fact that it was drizzling outside didn't get us motivated. We decided to be lazy and order room service in our pjs.

When our room service arrived around 11am we were hoping for some delicious brunch. Needless to say it didn't go as planned it was awful and didn't even eat..yuck we threw that mess out the door in a hurry. I had to walk down and buy us all some drinks due to the fact that our room service drinks were so watered down. I will say that was the worse of our trip everything else was perfect. Finally around 1pm we made it out and onto the Park Plaza Mall. As soon as we got there we headed straight to the food court. Went into Sephora of course and after picking up a few things we headed to Winter Jam which was a cluster from hell to say the least. Being that we had passes we were able to get in 3:30pm ahead of regular people at 5pm. There was going to be a VIP line at a side door blocked off but since peeps cant follow directions it didn't work that way thankfully this lovely youth pasture with a VIP pass headed up a path through the crazy rude people and got us all in like we were supposed to. While going through all the rude crazies I vowed that this would be my one and only time to ever attend winter jam. We got in found us amazing seats since the public wasn't allowed in yet.

Around 5 they let the cows in and it got crazy we just watched the madness.

 Around 5:15 it was started with pre-concert bands.

In March 2006 I first heard him at Women of Faith event at this exact same place and now I am seeing him live. Couldn't believe how crazy that was.

 

 

It was a blast now ready to go back.

MIL's 50th Birthday Getaway

I am up for any reason to have a getaway especially if it includes being kids free. Yes the angels start to sing amen! I love those lil monsters to death but a getaway does my Mommaing duties a world of difference. My MIL is turning 50 March 26th and she wanted to go to WinterJam and saw that it was going to be in Little Rock on the 9th. She got us some sweet VIP passes.

 

Little did she know Christi aka SIL and I had our own surprise up our sleeve for her.

 We had booked a Spa day and had an hour full body massage and hour facial waiting on us.

I had to sneak a picture, I mean what is a blog without pictures?

 

After that we headed to River Market and had a spa deluxe pedi and mani that was so needed.

I know the poor lil lady thought I must have never had one ever, yes they were just that bad.

Since we obviously worked up an appetite we caught the trolley and headed down River Market and came across Gusanos Pizza. I'm not a pizza fan but at this point it really didn't matter what we ate just as long as we ate. If I could eat pizza like this I would be a pizza lover OMG it was the best!

I just cant even began to describe this without the word heaven in it.

I didn't go totally unhealthy I did stick something healthy in there. Yes the drinks were out of this world too. We went 3 rounds could of put back more but knew we had some shopping to do.

I'm a Amaretto Sour drinker that's my favorite drink without the cherry of course. Hate cherry

 

While I was enjoying my dranksss and good girl gossip I look up to find him staring at me.

I couldn't even take it I mean really? I wanted to shout what tha explicits are you looking at?

 Oh see those doors in th middle of each table they opened up so we could feel the nice 72 degree breeze and people watch. Oh the people watching we did.

 

 

We went for desserts at Brown Sugar Bakery and I was beyond thrilled to find red velvet cupcakes.

I ended up getting a Red Velvet cupcake and a cheesecake Blondie.

 I saved the Blondie for a late night snack. My momma didn't raise no fool child!

I was trying to get a sexy pose so I could send the Farmer but as you can see not so much

 

We rode the trolley around and shopped what little was left of the day.

 

I even saw a real dog walker Ive only seen them in the movies.

While we were taking the trolley back to our hotel I captured this amazing picture of the river.

 I know you can see my head on the top of it but I still love it.
