12x 30 Chasing my Extraordinary in My so-called chaos challenge

12x30 Challenge

My sweet blogger friend Crystal @ Hall around Texas shared this amazing challenge and instantly I knew I had to join in. I hope many of you do too.

My failures rather than my success is what I focus on.
"I will hold myself to a standard of grace, not perfection." | Think Pink with Tadashi Shoji

Sometimes perfection can be perfect hell.
I have severs OCD. I love routine, schedule, planning, list making and perfection.
I feel that when I have routine and lists and everything is going as planned I have peace and comfort and stability but the moment 1 things is out of place I let it turn my whole world upside down and effect not only myself but with my attitude and mood it then effects the people around me.
Example: I was depotting a new blush and the hubs thought he was going to help and while I was looking for the wire cutters to get it out he thought he could take a knife and pop it out and ended up cracking it. When I walked in and saw it I lost my Shiz-nitz not a little I mean a lot like bat-shit crazy loose it. I had a toddler tantrum melt down I even hate to admit this but I was in tears. I just got this blush yesterday and "My plan" was to depot it place it into my pallet check that off the list and move on to the next thing on my list. But because I cant check this of my list because its broke and I don't do broken makeup. Cracks, crumbs, pieces falling out everywhere no I clean up enough mess I don't need another one. So therefor since I can do what I had planned on doing I can't move on. I find that if things aren't perfect then I look at them as failures and in return it ruins the rest of my day or week depending on how long I allow myself to hold onto whatever it is.
Why? Why can't I just let it be and move on. Why do I have to be perfect when I no there is not a such thing? I get all kinds of frazzled when my plan doesn't go exactly the way it should. I have so much more important things to focus on other than routine, schedule and checking things off the list so why do I let my need for perfection ruin myself.
Storm ahead....I thank the Lord for every red light that keeps me from a worse event down the road.

Conclusion:

I am going to love my self enough to "Let it be"
let it be. love the script of this tattoo and placement. maybe. since a full back tattoo is the only other tattoo I will be working on...pretty sure I'll get this one.

First year my 62lb 9yr old showed a 518lb calf and won reserve champ because the judge said his calf was soo tame and well trained :) I hope this yr is a good one too!

Instead of throwing the towel in I'm going to use it to wipe the sweat off.

  1. Love this challenge....
Oh man, I know what you mean I am OCD about planning ahead and everything on my calendar, Like making sure I am off or need to be off, or if I need a babysitter having that all planned out, and then someone backs out and it's back to the beginning, stressing in the moment to make sure everything works out and happens. Ugh, it eerks me when things don't go as planned but sometimes they are just out of my control. I love your post and quotes. You will over come this will the Let It Be (love the tattoo) attitude and prayer .... You can do it Girl! xo

  2. I can completely understand about how frustrating it is when something doesn't go to plan. I love lists and am really OCD about doing things in order and keeping things organized and when that doesn't happen it throws me off. Sometimes it even ruins my entire day no matter how good it had been. The quotes that you shared are so great! I have a similar "let it be" tattoo on the outside of my foot -- I love it! It is important that we take a step back and realize that just because something didn't go as planned that it isn't completely ruined ♥

  3. I understand exactly what you're talking about. I get this way as well if something doesn't go the way I planned or something is a mess. It's hard to take a step back, breathe, then count to 10 or as long as it takes for you to calm down. I've learned that things happen for reason, maybe the way I planned wasn't what God had planned for me. We never really see the bigger picture of things, however it'll all work out in the end. Such inspiring and motivational quotes you shared.

  4. This sounds like a great challenge. I am already doing a no spending month this month and it has been a little hard with all the amazing sales for people to spend the money they got for Christmas.
