Birthday Surprise

My Birthday was last Saturday and I had a Bridal Brunch for my cousin and his Fiancée. I woke up to my car filled with tons of balloons. The kids did a great job of surprising me.

I got a speeding ticket

Finally made it to the Bridal Brunch and since I met my mom and insisted on her driving for the day I indulged in some much needed Mimosas.
 1. Its my Birthday
2. I got a ticket on my Birthday
 3. its 5oclok somewhere

After the Brunch we headed to my favorite lunch spot in Ruston The Dawg House
They have the best burgers I have ever stuck into my mouth and the Jalapeno bun I get instead of regular bun is out of this world.

And to finish off the Birthday food crawl we stopped in Social Bites of Ruston to get a Red Velvet Cupcake. It wasn't good and I was upset it was so dry. But I didn't need it anyway

Once the Farmer got in the kids rushed to my side with a gift they all wrapped and I just knew it was going to be my camera bag that I have been wanting and sending him email hints. But to my surprise it wasn't ....It was a 50mm camera lens I have wanted that lens for a while now. I have talked about it a lot but didn't know he was listening. I love it and he listened and got the perfect gift and surprised me.

He then grilled me steaks and had gotten me Red Velvet cake from my favorite cake shop and Chocolate Covered Strawberries from Bayou Chocolate. It was perfect!!!

Cheers to my Cheerleader

Football is here and that means Cheerleading is in full motion. The elementary has a PeeWee cheer squad and it is 3rd-6th graders. There are 9 girls on the squad and they have been practicing really hard and going great. This is Maci's first year and she is loving it. She cheers at practice, when she gets home from practice, all week while not at practice and just all the time. I have been so proud of her you can hear her well and always smiling.

Running onto the field to perform a cheer and a chant,
I figured she would be a little shy but nope she goes with it and has taken the lead.

At all the high school PepRallys they get to cheer.
It is a lot of people in the gym but she doesn't let that bother her, she gets out there and shines.

She is having so much fun and loving being part of the PeeWee Cheer Squad.
We have a few more PepRallys and I will get more pictures and a video. The Homecoming PepRally will be October 4th and they are going to not only cheer but perform a dance.

Getting Old Sucks

I turned 30 and my body turned into a person I didn't know. My blood pressure went up my hormones were imbalance and my face turned into a 13 year old. I had never had acne or any face problems when I was growing up so this was so new to me and I had no clue what to do.
I made an appointment with my Female doctor and she did blood work and it revealed that my estrogen was non existent so she put me on Estrogen and said my face could be related to my hormones but after 2 weeks if it didn't start to clear up to go see a dermatologists. Just my luck my hormones are straighten out but my face isn't even starting to clear up so I made an appointment with a dermatologist and they couldn't see me until and a month and I'm sick of this face and have to do something now. I knew that at Spa Nouvelle had a variety of facials so I looked them up and saw a Deep Pore Cleanse and I called and made an appointment. I got to my appointment and Wendy my lady who did my face looked at it and said that she would recommend doing a microdermabrasion and a chemical peel and it would make my face start to clear up and then do another one in a month and then I could start doing deep pore cleanse after it started clearing up. I am so desperate so I agreed and now so glad I did. First she had to extract my pores and I have never had this done before and oh my it was a SOB. Then the next step was the microdermabrasion  after that was she started the chemical peel. The chemical peel didn't faze me because the extractions were so painful this was a breeze. She also gave me a fan to help with the burning so I didn't feel anything. After the treatments were over she told me to use sunscreen with zinc because that controls oil.  She also gave me a few samples of a tinted sunscreen with zinc to try.

I wish I would have took before pictures because I have had people tell me that they can see results and I can too. Its only been 2 days. Here are a few pics I found online.

Here is a video I found to show you what to expect and what it looks like getting it done

I am loving the results after this one treatment and I will keep you posted and continue to let  you know how it is doing and if I will need the second treatment or not. If you are having any face issues I highly suggest getting this done.

Beach Bums

Being that I have been so crazy I havent blogged about our Destin trip I figured I would get right on that. We own into the Wyndham Majestic Sun so its a routine we all know. Once my kids see the tunnel they know the Destin isnt far. Its a tradition that we roll the windows down open the sunroof and holla loudly. Yes we are the hoodlums you see.
For over 10 years going to the beach we have never been disappointed besides the one time we decided to give gulf shores a try and NOPE it wasn't for us. We are Destin snobs there is no water like Caribbean and Destin water sorry but true. This time in Destin it had rained all summer and was just plain yuck, I don't do green water I mean if I did I would just go to Biloxi or something and not take the time to drive as far but for us we drive the extra mile.  Look at our days :{ I was the biggest cry baby while there because the water was horrible it was high tide and I wanted to just pack up and go home I begged the Farmer and one morning literally cried to go home. We have gotten so spoiled to this beautiful place and it was awful. Another tradition we do includes renting a pontoon boat and heading out to Crab Island. The kids love finding all the hermit crabs and the shallow calm crystal clear water. Its like a party in the middle of the ocean. So much fun

Since I knew I wasn't getting my tan on in the rainy cloudy weather I just had my own pity party and drank it away.  All while watching the kids play and eat up the food bag Some kids bring sand toys to the beach my farm boy brought his tractors

WE ate really well

Even snuck in a little bit of Louisiana into our Florida trip

Maci LeighAnn getting in some awesome shots in the few sunshine hours we enjoyed

We enjoyed a family game of football. I couldn't get them to quit it lasted until 8pm when it got to dark to see anything. They were having a blast and it was fun to hang with just my fab H5

Mauri getting her pics in

Playing football on our last day and it was the prettiest day of course. We didn't leave the beach until after 8pm and it was dark so we had to leave. So we just threw some clothes on and went around the corner and grabbed some OutBack

Rhett and I on the boat headed to Crab Island

Look how awful Crab Island was
It made me cry

You would think these kidos would be tired and pass out but not these kidos

We are huge Mexican eaters and we couldn't go a week without it so we headed on down to a local Mexican place that we have heard great things about. We walked in and were a little unsure but sat down ordered a drink and fell in love the food and drinks were great.

In the parking garage taking a quick pic before dinner

I lost my wedding band in the ocean

Getting tackled while playing football was the cause of my wedding band being lost and I was sick over it. I mean if the weather wasn't bad enough

We picked up this alligator at Alvins Island and we rode this thing like crazy.

I had a friend tell me to try this place and I wouldn't regret it I would thank her and yes I am so very thankful for her. This place was so awesome we couldn't pass it without stopping.
There would always be a long line but it moves fast so it not a long wait.
Photos of Donut Hole, Destin

We carried a variety of these sweet treats home and enjoyed them with family. I may or may not of eaten a few on the way home. Their red velvet doughnut was my favorite.

The trip was a bust until the last day and then it reminded me of why we come here every year so all in all it was a Vacation and I am very thankful for the time away and quality time with the H5
