Lesson Learned

My dad works in Shreveport so he got a camp on Cross Lake to stay during the week and he comes home on the weekends. Or if he has to work on weekends my Mom goes there. It is beautiful and peaceful there. Just look at how relaxing this looks

            The kids favorite part is to feed the ducks and see how close they can get them to come.

          We decided since it had been so HOT it would be nice to take the kids to the water park there.
                                               Maci jumped right on in and enjoyed it.

                    Mauri loved it also and stayed on the slides she went from one to the other.

Rhett wanted to go down the big slide with Mauri and Maci and I knew what a whip he so I knew he wouldnt go down it when we got up there so I explained to him that if we went all the way to the top Im not bringing him down because this fat out of shape Momma isnt walking down once I get up the 10 flights of stairs. He said he would so here we go...Once at the top and his turn he is screaming of course and the life guard was saying to take him down...uhh excuse me cant you see Im huffing and puffing Im not going down MR Lifeguard. I ploped him on the slide and pushed him down...that little rascal grabbed the side and was hangin kicking and screaming so I had to pry his fingers off and send him down all while these crazy people are giving me the worst Mom ever look. Well if they were the best Mom why didnt they offer to take him back down....thats what I thought so you can take that look and shove it. Needless to say once he got to the bottom on the slide he wasnt screaming he was actually smiling but he wouldnt go again and you best believe that was a lesson well learned.

So for now he stuck to the kiddie slides like this one

Its been 11 years

As a result of a careless mistake this sweet precious angel was taken from me 11 years ago today. We were sisters ans stuck together like glue and all that changed in one simple hour from the last time I talked to her. So as a reminder please dont drink and drive or let friends drink and drive because 9 times out of 10 the drunk driver doesnt die its the victim who looses their life.

Brunch

We had Christi's Bridal Shower brunch June 16th. We have been so wrapped up in wedding mode and Im loving it...so girly and fun. I am so happy to be celebrating the new life she and Justin are going to have. For the brunch guest were welcomed with Mamosas, Sangria, and flavored water and then moved on to an array of breakfast goodies repersenting the South.  I promise we didnt plan the color cordnation but once we arrived we looked at laughed.

         She opened gifts the entire shower and didnt get to visit with folks but got lots of goodies.
             Just so happened BedBath and Beyond colors are her wedding colors so it all blends.

                        Molly & Mauri the Flowers girls were big helpers handing her the gifts.

Look at all the gifts I wonder if I could take a few and if she would notice? Hummm

                      She got all of her everyday china and the serving pieces that go with it.
                                        I love the fleur de los pattern and the butter color.

Summer Blog Vacation

      I thought summers were supposed to be the time when things slow down and you could just relax and  drink all day. Thats not what is happening here and Im sure for most of you the same. So while my kidos are out of school Im going to spend all my extra time with them and I know you will understand. I will still be reading your blogs when I get a chance and keeping up on twitter and Instagram but I just dont have the time to actually sit down and write out  a blog post.{Maybe because I am spending to much time in the water beating the heat drinking a few tropical drinks or maybe becuase I want to be lazy and not have anything to do but deal with my angels with horns.  We have alot of craziness with the Horse, Rodeo, and the 4H horse show, wedding and trying to have fun. I will be back periodical or late July. This summer has just been so overwhelming for us and I dont want to stress I want to have fun and still remain sane if that is possible. With our Beach vacation being canceled because of the wedding we are in need of some down time. I would rather have the wedding and have the best sis n law ever than a beach vacay any day! {What? Seriouly I am} So while Im on a blog vacay I really wish I was here:
