Mauri wants to hit the ball so bad she has a habit of reaching for it and will not wait on it and so far she is hitting the ball that way but I've been trying to get her to be patient and wait because she will get a better hit. It isn't working she is still swinging early or reaching so I don't know what else to tell her. When school ball started she was so hard on herself because she has never played pitched ball and she couldn't hit at the practices but once the first game she has become a hitter and is improving.
Mauri got her first ever homerun at her last game and she was on cloud nine.
It was an inside the park homerun but a homerun is a homerun.
I couldn't be more happier for her she has worked so hard to get to where she is at now.
Her little legs were just a getting it but she made it home safe.
Down and Ready
She wants it so bad she gets everything early and reaches. Bless her heart
Keeping her eye on the ball but she loaded and stepped before the ball got in range
I wish I had her determination she gets it from her Daddy
During Mauri's ball game I had to walk over to the other ball field because Rhett was playing at the same time. While I was watching Rhett he also hit a homerun.
When he got home he had this awful look on his face when I asked him what's wrong he said: "whew all that running I cant breathe."
Rhett has been a good little ball player and he has picked up everything easy.
He has been baseball obsessed and has to have all the fixings like the pros.
He needs his black under eye paint even when the sun isn't out. He plays pitcher and loves it there. He caught a pop fly and even ran a little boy down and tagged him out.
This is where Ill be until the second week in June

Get her onto a pitching machine...it will help her slow down until she figures it out. Also, go to this website and read about these Instructo Swings: http://www.anacondasports.com/INSTRUCTO-SWING-Batting-Recommended-baseball-softball/dp/B004TAQ9M0
ReplyDeleteI played softball for 11 years, and used one of these. A pitching machine will help with her timing.
Glad you got to see both of them get home runs!
We have a Jugs pitching machine and we crank it up and down to give her different speeds and still trying to instill it to her to wait on it. We have been hitting off tee to help build up arm strength. Ive played softball growing up and while they think I don't know to much I made them use the pitching machine on me and bam...Momma still got it. Loved seeing their faces and I was like see its all about eye on ball lol
ReplyDeleteI love watching the kids play. My two nephews that live here are both playing this year. I am spending a lot of time at the fields too.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo!! I love ball!
