Maci's First Homecoming

This post makes me sad
When did my baby girl get old enough to go to Homecoming?
I still don't think she should be. I think it should be High School only not Junior High but that's just my opinion. This picture below is just crazy to me because the girls whose these dresses belong to go way back all the way before they were born and even before their Moms were even Moms. These two girls are 2 months apart and now old enough to go to Homecoming WOW where did the time go?

My sister n law did the girls hair and makeup so I had the privilege to watch this sweet boy.
He didn't seem to mind we wore him slap out. Poor Izzy was even guarding him

Daddy and his beautiful Daughter

These 2 girls have came along way since the colic and diaper days, toddler dance classes, gymnastics for the specials, kindergarten, rodeos, and now Homecoming.
I just wish I knew what these secrets looks meant.

The 7th grade glass minus a few.
This is a really good and fun group of kids

With them only being in Junior High we didn't want to have to haul them an hour away to go eat then an hour back to go to the dance so I called a friend who is Chef and asked him to cater. He came up with a menu and Carey opened up her home and the kids had the best time. He served Prime Rib, Pulled pork, Garlic mashed potatoes, homemade mac and cheese, asparagus, salad, rolls, brownies, and bread pudding with a praline sauce that was out of this world.

Going to the Dance in style
Nick took the kids and Carey and I drove by ourselves in my car

Maci & Mason
They always have to take a picture together. Whether at a baseball game, football, cheer, why would Homecoming be any different

After the dance the kids came back changed clothes while the Moms placed everything out for the scavenger hunt and bonfire. They had teams and this was Maci's team. They had clues and at every stop they picked up a letter and at the end they had to unscramble their letters and that's where their prizes were. The kids had a blast doing this and think this will be done next year.

Last but not least

Friday Favorites

After checking this one out of school around 9am I got to spend the whole day with the one who made me a Mommy. With 3 kids its a rarity that I have only one kid with me so when I do I make the most out of it. She had a dermatologist and orthodontist appointment. She gets her braces off Wednesday. We were starving and asked what she wanted for lunch she replied back with exactly what I was hoping she would say: Sushi

I don't know if I have ever shared with you the love affair I have with these Vigoss jeans.
My go to jeans have  been American Eagle but after buying these I now have another front runner.
They are perfect for throwing on and running errands or to dress up or down in.
I will be ordering more of the Vigoss jeans

I have got Fall décor our and about
this is a big deal because I am not a Fall person so I usually just skip the decorating

We met with guy and told him what we wanted and discussed how our old firepits just didn't last.
He is going to weld a heavy duty one that also doubles as a grill as well. This is on our menu this weekend. Cant wait to share with you the ones that we likes the best
S'mores... Be fun for a gathering of friends and family around the bonfire. :) Summer time nights:

It's Calving season here at the H5 so we have been cow checking and sweet babies have been hitting the ground like crazy. It's my favorite time of the cow season lol

How I do it: Bible, Devotion, and Quite time

This was my current quite time with the Lord until recently I knew I needed to dig in deeper and change it up a bit. I have been reading the Jesus calling devotional for my second year and it was amazing the first year but reading it again is just ok. I knew I needed to get another devotional but didn't know what I wanted. I turned to Amazon, Pinterest, and Google for some help.

I found this bible cover at Walmart and love the bright colors and figured it would help brighten up my quite time. I am going to get a monogramed patch to iron on the front of it.
I have had my old bible cover ever since I got this bible which was in 2006.
As far as bibles my go to is the Life Application Study Bibles.

What I love most about this bible is when there are parts that I am having trouble comprehending I can look at the bottom of the page and find notes that apply it in my life. It helps me break down the scripture.
Here is an example of a page:
I wanted something more organized and all in one place. I decided to make a Devotional and Prayer binder. I bought a binder, a package of dividers, wide ruled notebook paper.
I went to Pinterest to look for some guidance and pintables which you can find here. I used the dividers and labeled them: Prayer, Blessing, Devotions, Memory Verse, Sermon & Church, and Helpful Study hints. I printed off things that I wanted in my binder and placed them behind the divider where they went.

If I am in between devotionals or just wanting to read strictly the bible only I can make more of a study out of it with these pages. I can also use them for my devotional also.

There have been times when I have been reading my bible and I remember thinking to myself I think I took notes on this passage from a sermon at church one time. I would have to go to the car or wherever my church notebook was and look it up. Now I can take this page bring with my to church and when I get home put it into the binder. There are more than one design and type of sermon pages to pick and choose from. You can bring 4/5 of them and at the end of the month take old ones out place them into binder and put 4/5 more new ones in. It's whatever works.

I am always looking for new ways or how to improve what I am doing so this section is where I keep my how to, color coding, and S.O.A.P, G.R.O.W, and many more helpful things.

For my memory verse I wanted them to stick out in my mind so I found these Memory Verses. I am loving this Homemakers Prayer so much I am thinking about getting it framed and placed in my kitchen. That's the room I am in the most and know I could see it and pray continuously this prayer.

I am also loving this prayer for Moms I came across. This is why I am loving this binder. I can place all of these things and flip through them.

When life doesn't give you Apple picking near by

Then head right on over to your grocery store and pretend you are at an orchard. The kids have been wanting to make caramel apples and while we were at the grocery store we put them on our list. It's also on our Fall Bucket List.

Rhett went dove hunting with his Papaw and I get this sweet picture. He got him one

The girls and I loaded up, took a quick selfie that the sun added that extra radiant look, went to Subway for lunch and while there made a Grocery List and meal planned. Now that we are all full and have a game plan we head to the store to grab what we need.

The girls had specific kinds of apples they wanted. Mauri wanted Honey Crisp apples {thanks to my mom having us hooked on them} and Maci said when I think of candy apples I think of the green ones so that's what she picked out. I told Mauri there were her baskets just to pretend she was in an orchard. She was busy inspecting them making sure there weren't any bad spots or worms.

I have been circling and walking away from all the Pioneer Woman stuff for almost 3 weeks now but this trip I just couldn't do it. I walked away with a knife and a spatula. It was only fitting to try it out.
We had chocolate, caramel and mini M&Ms

Set up and ready...

The girls made their own and then made several others

Mauri getting her perfect and precise because she has OCD issues like her Momma

Speaking of OCD problems...my cookie jar

Maci loading up her apples with all of the goodies, this is my kind of girl...load them up

This picture makes my heart smile. I just love when we are all in one place making memories. Just girls having fun doing girl stuff. I can't help but think one day these precious girls are going to be wives and will be cooking and baking for their spouse and children.

While Maci was getting ready to go with some friends Mauri showed off her apples and by the looks of things she has been eating some

I just love this freckled face little punk

Maci's apples looks really good I may or may not have ate one while she was in her room getting dressed. At least I was nice and didn't eat them all

After this I took dropped Maci off and tried a new recipe. I cooked the Pioneer Womans Tex-Mex Fried Rice. I was delicious and will def be on our ration. I left out the bell peppers since we are not big fans and I knew the kids would be eating this so I changed spicy sausage to regular.
